Laser Hair Removal

The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates into the skin tissue, where it delivers a controlled amount of targeted therapeutic light and destroys hair follicles. Its cooling technology protects the superficial layers of the skin with a cool burst of cryogen before the laser energy penetrates the skin. Together, the long-pulse laser and its cooling system offer optimal treatment with minimal side effects.

The number of sessions depends on the treatment required and the condition of the skin. But generally, patients see long term results after four to ten sessions.

Do not tweeze, wax, pluck or undergo electrolysis six weeks before your appointment. Immediately before treatment, avoid exposing the intended treatment area to sunlight, tanning beds and self-tanning products. Shave the treatment area twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours before, and come without any make-up, lotion, deodorant, ointments, etc.

Immediately after treatment, there may be some redness on the treated area, lasting anywhere between 2-5 hours. A patient may also experience light itching. To provide relief, we provide our patients hydrocortisone. To help the treated area cool down, we recommend applying aloe or a cold compress onto it. After treatment, you may return to your daily activities, but the patient must wear sunblock (with a minimum SPF 30) during the day, especially when outdoors.

At Allure, we use Candela GentleMax Pro, a laser machine that has multi-wavelength systems, allowing us to treat all skin types and tones. However, individuals with tanned skin may not be the best candidates; when the skin has increased melanin (as is the case with patients who are heavily tanned), the laser beam has difficulty distinguishing between hair and skin. Further, laser hair removal is ineffective for individuals with light, red or gray hair.

The majority of our patients do not experience any pain – some describe the sensation as quick rubber band snaps. While there is no need for pain medication, we offer numbing cream to maximize the patient's comfort.

Yes, the United States Food and Drug Administration has cleared the GentleMax Pro for permanent hair reduction, as multiple studies have proven the effectiveness of the procedure.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a clear, smooth gel made with Hyaluronic Acid (HA) - a natural substance that adds volume and hydrates the skin.

Briefly, Juvéderm is used to add volume into the lips; fill nasolabial folds (i.e., smile lines); reduce marionette lines (i.e., wrinkles/folds at the corner of the mouth); and eliminate under eye dark circles.

In most cases, no. But prior to treatment, if a patient is experiencing discomfort or anxiety, we will numb the area(s) to be treated beforehand.

You will see results instantly. But over the course of the next week, the filler will soften and draw moisture into the area treated, effectively improving and enhancing your look.

After an injection, most patients experience a minimal amount of discomfort. Sometimes, patients may have mild swelling, firmness or bruising. Usually, these side effects subside in one week or less.

If you feel that you have too much volume, we can dissolve the filler with a supplemental injection. However, please be advised that there may be an additional charge. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis as each patient's circumstance is unique to her.

Botox®

Botox® is a neuromuscular blocking agent that inhibits muscular contractions. It temporarily reduces muscle activity and relaxes facial folds that develop over time due to repeated facial expressions, squinting, aging and intense concentration.

Botox® is used to correct wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes (crow's feet). It may also be used to soften dimples on the chin; slim the jawline; reduce headaches; and alleviate pain from teeth grinding or TMJ.

No, the injection process is not painful. Some of our patients describe the feeling as a quick and tiny poke per injection.

Many patients begin seeing results as quickly as two days after treatment. Generally, results last a minimum of three months.

While your specialist will give you specific aftercare instructions, there is little to no downtime. After treatment, you may resume with your regular daily activities.

The most common side effects are bruising, swelling, redness or tenderness around the injection site, all of which typically resolve within one week or sooner.

Absolutely. If desired, you may book an appointment for fillers, laser hair removal or facial on the same day of your Botox® appointment.
